Get the grills out this upcoming Labor Day long weekend and end the summer season by hosting a backyard barbecue with the following delicious recipes:
#1 BEER BRATS
What is a barbecue if old-fashioned hot dogs aren’t served? This tasty recipe will have your family and guests coming back for more.
- Four 12 ounce cans of beer
- Diced Onion (1)
- Bratwursts (10)
- Teaspoons of red pepper flakes (2)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- Teaspoon of salt (1)
- Ground black pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
Grill-Out Directions:
Our Oldsmar Pool Contractor advise you pre-heat your outdoor grill on medium heat. When the grill is hot, lightly oil the grate and mix the beer and onions in a large pot as it gets to a boil. Put the bratwurst in the beer and add red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Lower the heat to medium and cook the hot dogs for another 10 to 12 minutes. At this time, remove the bratwurst from the beer mixture and reduce the heat to low as you cook the onions. Add the bratwurst to the preheated grill and turn it once within a 5 to 10-minute time frame.
2# HONEY CHICKEN KABOBS
Are you ready for meat on a stick? Well, what more can your guests ask for. Here are simple ways to perfect your next barbecue:
- Vegetable Oil (1/4) cup
- 1/3 cup of honey
- 1/3 cup of soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
- 8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves cut into 1 inch cubes
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Cut 5 small onions into 2 inch pieces
- Red bell peppers (2) cut into 2 inch pieces
- Skewers
Our Oldsmar Pool Contractor Honey Chicken Kabobs
Add honey, oil, pepper and soy sauce into a large bowl. Before you add the chicken, save a small amount of marinade to add on the kabobs as you are cooking the meat. In the large bowl, add garlic, onions and peppers with the chicken and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Preheat the grill to a high heat and drain the marinade from the chicken and vegetables. Place the chicken and vegetables on the skewers and lightly oil the grill. Put the skewers on the grill and cook the food for 12 to 15 minutes.
#3 GRILLED PEACHES AND CREAM
It’s time for desert. End your outdoor barbecue with this classy but simple treat.
- 4 peaches
- Clover honey (2 tablespoons)
- Soft cream cheese with honey and nuts (1 cup)
- Vegetable oil (1 tablespoon)
Cooking Directions:
Preheat the grill to medium-high and coat the peaches with oil. Place the pit side down on the grill. Grill the peaches for 5 minutes until you see light grill marks. Turn the peaches on the opposite side and brush it with honey. Place the cream cheese in the area where the pit was, and grill it for 2 to 3 minutes until it is warm and immediately serve.
